    FAQ

What size should album cover art be?

3000 × 3000 pixels, square, as a JPG or PNG in RGB colour. That's what Spotify and Apple Music recommend and most distributors require. This tool always exports at exactly that size.

Can I use my own photo?

Yes — click or drop a photo into the Background section, then zoom and reposition it. For the sharpest result use a photo at least 1500 pixels on its shortest side; the tool warns you if it's being enlarged too much.

    What gets a cover rejected?

Common reasons are web addresses or social handles, streaming-service logos, promotional text like "out now" or "free download", borders, blurry or pixelated images, and names that don't match your release. The checks under the preview flag the ones a tool can detect.

Can I use these covers commercially?

Yes. The design is yours, and the fonts are open-licensed for commercial use. If you add a photo, make sure you have the rights to it.

    Can I animate my cover?

Yes — press Animate this cover to open it in the animated cover art maker (for Apple Music motion artwork and social loops), or Make a Spotify Canvas for a looping vertical Canvas.

    Is it free?
