FAQ

What is Apple Music motion art?

Animated album artwork that plays at the top of your album page in Apple Music. Apple asks for a square (3840 × 3840) and a tall (2048 × 2732) version, 8 to 35 seconds long, looping, with no audio and no flashing. You submit both files through a distributor that supports motion art.

Which size do I need?

Export both: the square 1:1 file and the tall 3:4 file — Apple needs the pair. The tall version extends your artwork upward and downward, so check the crop with the background position sliders.

Do I need my song?

No. Press No music? to animate without audio — drift, dust, rain and snow move on their own. With your song added, effects like the glow and pulse follow the beat.

Can I use the loops on Instagram or X?

Yes. In the export window choose Social loop and any format, such as square for posts or vertical for Stories.

Why does a 3840 × 3840 export take a while?

Each frame is over 14 megapixels, drawn and encoded on your computer. Expect a few minutes for a 15-second loop. If your browser cannot encode that size, use Chrome or Edge on a computer with a recent graphics card.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Audio analysis, rendering and video encoding all run inside your browser on your own computer. Your audio, images and text never leave your device.

Which browser should I use?

Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on a desktop or laptop give the best results, and can save long exports straight to a file. Other browsers can preview and export shorter videos.

Is it free?

Yes — free with no sign-up and no paywall. The site is supported by the ads on the page. A small "Made with" badge is added to videos by default, and you can switch it off under Text & overlay.
