About HEIC

What is HEIC?High Efficiency Image Container — the photo format iPhones use since iOS 11. It’s about half the size of JPG at the same quality.
Why convert?Windows, Android, many websites and older apps can’t open HEIC files. JPG works everywhere.
PrivatePhotos are decoded in your browser, and GPS location and camera details are stripped from the JPGs.
Live PhotosThe still image of a Live Photo is converted; the short video part isn’t.

FAQ

Are my images uploaded?

No. Every image is processed inside your browser on your own device. Nothing is sent anywhere — and location and camera data are stripped from the files you download.

How do I convert HEIC to JPG on Windows?

Open this page in Chrome or Edge, drop the HEIC files in, and download the JPGs — nothing to install.

Can I stop my iPhone taking HEIC photos?

Yes: Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible saves new photos as JPG. Existing photos stay HEIC.

Will I lose quality?

At quality 90 the difference is invisible for normal viewing. JPG files are usually a bit larger than the HEIC originals.

Why does the first photo take a moment?

The HEIC decoder (an open-source library) loads the first time you add a HEIC file. After that, conversions are quick.

Is it free?

Yes — free, no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on the number of images. The site is supported by the ads on the page.
