How to make a 3D-printed soundwave keychain

A soundwave keychain is a voice, a laugh or a favourite song turned into a shape you can carry. The Glowtrack Studio soundwave art maker reads your audio, draws its waveform as bars and turns it into a ready-to-print STL — keychain with a ring loop, or a plaque with the wave raised on a base.

Print settings that work

Step by step

  1. Open the Glowtrack Studio soundwave art maker and drop in your recording (MP3, WAV, M4A or a voice memo).
  2. Use the start and end sliders to keep just the words or the part of the song that matters.
  3. Switch to the 3D print tab and choose Keychain or Plaque. Set the length, wave height and thickness in millimetres.
  4. Drag the preview to check it from every angle, then download the STL.
  5. Open the STL in PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, Cura or any slicer, slice it flat on the bed and print.

Questions

What size should the keychain be?

About 70–100 mm long and 20–25 mm tall works well on a key ring. Shorter clips (a word or two) look best at the smaller end.

Is the STL watertight?

Yes. The model is generated as a single closed solid (the plaque as two touching solids), so slicers open it without repair.

Can I make a poster instead?

Yes — the same tool makes print-ready soundwave posters as PNG or SVG, with your title and date underneath.
