How it works

  1. Drop in a songAny audio file from your device. The tempo is detected automatically.
  2. Set the speedDrag the speed slider, pick a preset, or type a target BPM. The pitch stays the same unless you untick it.
  3. DownloadMake an MP3, M4A or WAV of the whole song — or send it to the visualizer to make a video.

Tempo without the chipmunk effect

Time-stretchingThe song is cut into tiny overlapping slices that are spaced further apart or closer together, so it gets slower or faster without changing key.
Exact BPMType the BPM you want — for a DJ set, a running pace or a dance routine — and the speed is set for you.
PracticeSlow a solo down to 0.75× to learn it note by note, then step it back up.
Old-school modeUntick “Keep the original pitch” for the classic record-player effect, where slower also means deeper.

FAQ

Is my song uploaded?

No. Everything happens inside your browser on your own device — the processing, the preview and the final file. Your audio is never sent anywhere.

How do I change the BPM of a song?

Drop the song in, wait a moment for the original tempo to be detected, then type your target BPM. The speed is worked out for you and the pitch stays the same.

Can I slow down a song without changing the pitch?

Yes — that’s the default. “Keep the original pitch” is on, so the song is time-stretched rather than played slower.

How far can I change the tempo?

From half speed (0.5×) to double speed (2×). The sound stays cleanest between about 0.7× and 1.4×.

The detected BPM is half or double what I expected — why?

Tempo detection sometimes locks onto every other beat. Type the BPM you want anyway — the ratio still works out correctly — or check it with the BPM & key finder.

Can I hear the difference?

Yes. Press Compare with original while it plays to flip between the untouched song and your version at the same spot.

Can I upload the result to YouTube, TikTok or Spotify?

Only if you own the song or have permission. An edited version of someone else’s recording is still their recording, and platforms’ copyright systems will usually match it. You’re responsible for what you upload; for your own music, go for it.

Is it free?

Yes — free, no sign-up and no watermark, at full length. The site is supported by the ads on the page.
