Check it yourself: your files never leave your device
Every tool on Glowtrack Studio works inside your browser. Your songs, videos and photos are processed on your own computer or phone and are never uploaded. Here are three ways to check, and two of them don’t rely on trusting us at all.
1. The offline test (2 minutes, no technical knowledge)
- Open any tool, for example the music visualizer or the background remover, and use it once. The first time, it downloads its engine to your browser (the video encoder or the AI model).
- Turn off your internet: switch off Wi-Fi, unplug the cable or turn on airplane mode.
- Open a different file and use the tool again: convert it, export it, remove the background.
It still works. That would be impossible if your file had to go to a server. With the internet off, only the adverts and visitor stats stop loading.
2. Your browser’s own network log
Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari all have a built-in log of every request a page makes. It’s part of the browser, not our website.
- On a computer, press F12 (Mac: Cmd + Option + I) and open the Network tab. Tick Preserve log.
- Use a tool with a large file, say a 50 MB song or video.
- Look through the list. The large items are things coming to you: the tool’s code, fonts, the AI model. To see what a request sent out, click it and open Payload. No request carries your file. The few that send anything are small statistics and advertising requests of a few kilobytes.
3. The live log on every page
At the bottom of every page there’s a 🔒 What this page sends link. It lists every request the page has made, where it went and how much data it carried, next to the total size of the files you’ve opened. It’s quick to read, but since it runs inside our own page, use test 1 or 2 if you want proof that doesn’t depend on our code.
What does leave your device
| Who | Why | What they get |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosts the website | Normal web requests for our pages and files, like any website. We have no server that accepts uploads: the site is static files. |
| Google Analytics | Anonymous visitor statistics | Which pages and tools are used, and events such as “export finished, 1080p” or “file type: mp3”. Never file names, file contents, lyrics or anything you type. |
| Google AdSense | The adverts that keep the site free | What any ad sees on a website. Ads run inside separate frames that the browser seals off from our page, so they can’t read your files. |
